Brig Gen Buba Marwa (rtd), Chairman and Chief Executive of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, has written a letter to Sen Abdullahi Adamu, Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC, requesting that officials of the NDLEA be granted access to conduct drug integrity tests on politicians seeking political office in the country.
Marwa stated that when the PDP and other parties have their party primaries, he will write to the national chairman requesting that NDLEA agents be permitted to perform drug integrity tests on politicians seeking higher positions.
The NDLEA boss, who was speaking at the agency’s first quarter award ceremony in Abuja, explained that the drugs test is necessary to ensure that politicians in important national positions do not use budgetary allocations to go and buy cocaine or methamphetamine instead of providing needed services to the masses.
