Peter Obi, one of the Peoples Democratic Party’s frontline presidential aspirant has dumped the major opposition platform.
Mr Obi’s departure came on the eve of a fiercely contested presidential primary, as the politician expressed worries of being humiliated at the Abuja convention.
Mr. Obi confirmed his exit to the media on Wednesday evening, stating he became aware of a group plotting against him.
He did not reveal his next platform right away.
The incident is anticipated to draw even more attention to the PDP primaries, which are set to take place this weekend in Abuja, and in which Mr Obi was considered as a front-runner in a contest that also includes Atiku Abubakar, Nyesom Wike, Dele Momodu, Bukola Saraki, and other bigwigs.
